Mineral Springs School Bell
This may be the original Mineral Springs School bell. This bell was definitely used in the 1920s by Principal Gordon, who was the third principal of the school after it moved from Jew Hollow to its new building at Watson. The bell was handed down to subsequent teachers and principals and was eventually presented to Helen Fields when she retired from service as the school's lunchroom supervisor.
The bell is now in the possession of Helen's daughter, Joyce (Fields) Blankenship, to whom we owe thanks for this photo. As more information becomes available about the bell, it will be included here.
